If you’ve been watching the news, the Atlanta area was brought to a stand still by a winter storm on Tuesday. We had a lovely snowfall that lasted about 3 hours before it got really ugly. As the snow turned to slush and then turned to ice, major highways were gridlocked through the night into a good part of yesterday.
Those of us at home realized we were the lucky ones, as reports of trip times came in… 2 hours to travel 5 miles, 3 hours to travel 9 miles and usual 45 minute drives turned into 9 hour rides from downtown Atlanta out to the suburbs. People were left stranded as they couldn’t manage the ice-covered roads.
Yesterday morning, though, we woke up to a winter wonderland.
Snow covered our house…
Our cul-de-sac…
Our street.
It was oh. so. pretty… Sadly, it was already starting to melt.
So after breakfast, we bundled up the girl and headed outside…
The girl and I made snow angels…
and we all walked to the playground. (Thanks honey for these two photos! I’m hardly ever in any family photos…)
We had a fun time outside, but even with two layers of clothing, the girl quickly tired and proclaimed “I don’t like snow.”
I’m sure that will pass…
How did everyone else fair with the snowy weather?

Yazim, these are some amazing photos. The snow is so beautiful and it looks like your girl had a great time. We don't have any snow here and our kids are kind of sad. They are used to getting more snow when we are in Ukraine.

Thank you! We had a great time in the snow, for as long as she tolerated it.
I can't believe you guys aren't getting any snow up there! I always thought it snowed all winter up north... just goes to show you how much I pay attention to weather reports. lol
