Don’t feed him after midnight…
Earlier this year, our 15-year-old kitchen table had finally frustrated me enough. The caulk between the tile and wood was starting to separate. The girl would spill something on the table, I would clean it up, but then the next day there would be a large dry spill stain on our floor. Plus the ants were making regular visits due to our constant table leaking.
We picked up a new table for what I call “the age of the girl”. It is a sturdier table, wider and longer than our previous round tiled breakfast nook style table and I suspect it will be wonderful for projects in years to come.
The only issue with the table is its color. I truly love the color of the table… but, it’s a dark table, like the lantern above, and seems too much with our red walls. I’m about over our red kitchen anyhow, so I’ve been thinking of going with a color in the blue-green family… something lighter so the room seems bigger than it really is.
I’m still deciding, but when I see color combinations I like, I snap them for later reference!
(I know I already showed you the finished product, but bear with me… I didn’t realize I messed up the dating on my photos…)
We picked up a second-hand Wonder Woman costume for the girl this year for Halloween. Sadly, it didn’t come with a crown or wrist cuffs. I couldn’t let my little Wonder Woman go out into the world without her bling, so I made them! 2 toilet paper rolls, foam glitter sheets and hot glue later, we had some cheap and easy accessories!
I was so excited about this, because I literally spent $3 out of pocket to make these for her… and she loved them!
Best. Costume. Ever. And I wish I had a good photo of them, but we went trick-or-treating with one of her friends whose parents dressed her up as SuperGirl! We had no idea ahead of time. They were so cute walking down the street hand-in-hand.
Couldn’t have planned it better myself if I tried.
