There was a time in my life I used to dance… a lot. I remember spending 4 days a week after school at the dance studio. So I have to tell you I was more than a little excited when the girl starting showing signs of wanting to dance.
I mean, don’t get me wrong… if she had shown signs of wanting to kick things, I would have been uber excited, too, but we have plenty of time for martial arts and kickboxing later…
Back to the dancing…
With all the twirling around happening in our living room, we decided to look at enrolling her in dance classes. I was never the ballerina type, opting for modern jazz and tap, but the girl really seems to like ballet. It may have a lot to do with a few of the Angelina Ballerina cartoons she’s watched, or that she gets to wear those pretty ballet slippers. I haven’t decided which yet.
The local school offered a free introductory class and after watching her participate, I knew we were both hooked. She loves the class and it was enough to make me want to start plie-ing against my kitchen’s half wall to help her practice.
Needless to say (just look at the photo) we signed her up for the year.
The girl’s birthday party was coming up soon and I had plans to make it a Minnie Mouse or a Doc McStuffins party theme, but 2 weeks before the party, we discovered Bubble Guppies. (If you have not seen the show, I highly suggest you watch an episode. You’ll love it.)
Well, as if planning a party isn’t stressful enough, it turns out Nick Jr. hasn’t created party materials for this show yet, so I had to print them and cut them all out.
I was not a happy camper, but having these cute little mer-kids staring back at me while I prepped made the whole thing more fun. This is me cutting the last minute decorations the night before. Grrr…
We had the party in the park on a Sunday afternoon. I promise I will make a separate post about it soon!
She makes me want these car eyelashes for our minivan. Not sure my husband would drive it then…
With so much partying (her daddy’s birthday, our anniversary and our birthday are all within a few days of each other), she was overly tired much of the week.
Not to mention the enormous amounts of sugar she consumed in leftover cake. I’m going to have to figure out a way to limit that next year…
I start cleaning out the garage again, making space for us to actually live our life in our house and not use it as a storage location, when I found this camera sitting in a box. It’s amazing the things you find when you clean.
Up on eBay it went…
And after all is said and done, I still can’t believe that little baby I brought home is a big 3 years old. She’s amazing and like one of my friend’s says, I’m so grateful she’s on loan to me from God.
She makes being a mami so worth it.

Looks like another full week for you! There's something so wonderful about a little girl deciding she's ready to dance! I wish my daughter would have stuck with ballet, but it wasn't in the cards for us! You are a wonderful mother staying up late to hand cut birthday party favors! I'm sure it meant the world to your little girl!! Sounds like many Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary wishes are in order this week! I DEFINITELY think you should get giant pink eyelashes for your minivan. That would be awesome .. but only if you take and post pictures! ;) Don't you love cleaning up and out? There's something so renewing and refreshing about it! Here's to another great week, can't wait to see what keeps you busy next week!

It was a busy week, Lori! The next week calmed down a bit more and now that my mom is gone back home (*sniff, sniff*), things are a little more back to normal.
Thank you for the anniversary well wishes!

Aww Candace!
When we got our first ultrasound, the tech was sure she was a boy... and I let out a sigh of relief. Boys I knew I could handle. Girls were a whole different monster.
After 3 years, I couldn't imagine her being anything but a girl. :D
