A slow week in September. Thought it would never come.
With so many celebrations in September, we’ve been eating cake ’til the cows came home… and that was the last week, since this is a picture of the last surviving cupcake. I was so sad to see it go that I ate it in secrecy.
Yes, I hide good food from my family. lol
That Saturday, one of our friend’s daughters got married. You already know how much I love weddings and while I bring my camera, I make sure not to get in the way of the paid photographer. So I have tons of photos of the event, but none really of the wedding couple. Not that I needed them, since I know I got the better photos of the event.
For example, like the one above. 4 friends who haven’t been together in years.
These are the moments I love to capture.
While mom was here, there were a few days we had to leave her alone… or that she chose to stay home, like the day of the wedding. The next day, as I was waking the girl up, I noticed she had arranged the girl’s dolls on the bench with the abuelita right in the center.
We’ve been toying with the idea of creating a Christmas village for a few years now. Trains and snow, ice skaters and shops. And each year we visit our local Parson’s Christmas Shoppe, we come back more excited to create our vision.
After one of our visits to the Lego store earlier last month, we decided we’d try to make our vision come true using Legos. We’ve slowly been bidding on Lego Winter Village sets, hoping to win the retired sets in an acceptable price range for us. We’ve managed to collect 3 of them, but 1 is still to pricey for our blood. Maybe we’ll break down after the holidays.
For the wedding, I realized I needed something sparkly to wear, so I made a new infinity necklace. This is modeled after something I saw at Target I totally loved… although mine is slightly pricier considering the materials I used. It was definitely nice to play with my pliers again.
After all the events last month, I needed a day to catch up and finish all the photos. So I spent a few days plowing through the backlog and finally finishing the last of the events.
Finally! Nothing hanging on my shoulders. 😉
