Another lovely week. The hubby told the girl earlier in the week she could sleep with us one night on the weekend if she was good for something – can’t remember what. We just assumed she would forget, but wouldn’t you know, she remembered! So she immediately climbed into the bed (this is a really tall bed folks)…
The next day, we checked out a local splash pad! It only costs us $2 to get the girl in and we had tons of fun. Why have we not done this before…
The same day we went to the splash pad, we picked up some new hand-me-down toys from a friend of ours. I cannot express how grateful I am for these friends. Their daughter is 5 years older than Fiona and as they clean out their house of toys no longer holding her interest, we are getting blessed.
God is so good.
Notice all the sand in her hair? Yea, we were dumping it all over ourselves while mom did some gardening. I should have paid more attention…
On the second day of “sand bathing”, it lead to this…
I can’t imagine what my neighbors thought of me hosing down my daughter as she ran around the yard in pampers pretending it was the splash pad all over again. Please… like you’ve never done it.
Finally, the garden is done. Although I’m 2 months late planting my vegetables, we’ll see how they do. I picked a short maturity variety of tomatoes (Celebrities), but they required more area to grow. I’m taking a chance putting 2 of them, along with 2 pepper plants, in half whiskey barrels we purchased last weekend, but I’m watching my vegetables like a hawk. Crossing my fingers they all grow well…
The rest of the week… well more of the usual as we stayed home due to rainy skies.
Have you heard of the book Made to Crave? I’ve been reading the book this past week, one chapter a day. It’s giving me a different perspective on losing weight and the attitude in which I eat food. So far, I highly recommend it.
What have you been reading lately?
